Unpredictable weather and the hustle and bustle of holiday to-do lists can consume all our focus in wintertime. But, in the season of giving, there’s also plenty of room—and lots of good reasons—to give ourselves a little love too. Why not give yourself the gift of better vision this winter?
Before you dismiss the idea because you think you’re too busy, think about it: The holidays are a time when employers are giving a few days off and/or workers are eager to take paid time off to get things done. One of those things could be LASIK!
If you recognize yourself in any of these scenarios, this winter may very well be your prime time for laser vision correction.
If you set aside pretax dollars into your employer’s Flexible Spending Account or Health Spending Account and still have a balance, don’t let those funds expire. Schedule a consultation to find out if you’re a candidate for LASIK or one of our LASIK alternatives. You can use your medical spending funds to pay for, or pay down, your surgical fee. At the very least, you will walk away with one of the most thorough eye screenings you’ve ever had.
If you’ve already spent your FSA/HSA balance, plan ahead for next year. The maximum allowable pretax contribution for 2021 is $2,750. Max it out and enjoy the tax savings—and your improved eyesight.
Those of us who live in the Midwest know all about brutally hot and humid summers as well as the teeth-chattering chill of wintertime. When you choose the latter time frame for laser vision correction, you won’t have to deal with sweat in your eyes, stifling humidity or heat-induced puffiness as you heal from your procedure.
Summer was made for swimming… and baseball and biking and travel… Instead of booking LASIK at a time when you are most inclined to be active, do it during the time of year when you’re spending more time indoors anyway. Indoors during a less-humid season is just about ideal for the brief healing period following your procedure. You’ll be out and about in no time anyway, and you can look forward to a spring and summer with no more restrictions!
Imagine being able to fully take in every detail of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve with your family… without relying on glasses and contact lenses! This is the reality for so many patients who have come to see us for vision correction treatment. No more scrambling for glasses, no more mask fog on those lenses and no more cleaning contacts before bedtime. Total freedom.
…And isn’t that what the holidays should be all about?
Missouri Eye Institute has helped thousands of patients attain freedom from glasses and contact lenses. Contact us at (800) 383-3831 to schedule a thorough vision correction screening or visit MissouriEye.com to learn more about our services.
