At the time of your evaluation and at surgery, several measurements and scans of the front surface of the eye (cornea) are taken in order to map out the curvature of your eye. These scans include:
Oculus Pentacam Topography: This system is the world’s most advanced technology for screening laser vision candidates. The scanning cameras capture very precise measurements of the curvature and thickness of the cornea. Thickness measurements are critically important in determining eligibility for the procedure.
iDesign 2.0 Refractive Studio: The iDesign process involves using wavefront analysis to measure how light moves through your eye to create what you see. This scan details the imperfections in your vision. Additionally, it scans the outside surface of your eye to measure imperfections in both curvature and elevation, and these are relayed to the laser system to precisely correct your vision at the time of your procedure. This allows for a truly customized approach to correct your vision.
