If you live in the Show-Me State and are planning to dramatically improve your vision with LASIK, Missouri is a great place to see the beauty you’ve been missing. Museums, caves, beaches, historic artifacts and toys galore are all within a short road trip, and every single one is more enjoyable with the visual freedom that comes after LASIK.

There’s so much to see and do in the heartland. You’ll see it better and do it easier without the burden of expensive prescription glasses and contact lenses. Here are five of our favorite Missouri attractions:

  1. LEGOLAND

You don’t have to be a kid to appreciate the scope of the art created from the humble LEGO. Kansas City’s LEGOLAND is famed for MINILAND®, a replica of the city built with 1.5 million LEGO bricks. There, visitors can marvel at miniature landmarks like Union Station, Arrowhead Stadium, the World War I Memorial and more. The museum also features a virtual reality experience, 4D Cinema and hands-on workshops where you can put your building-block skills—and your sharper eyesight—to the test.

Address: 2475 Grand Boulevard, Kansas City

  1. Fantastic Caverns

Fantastic Caverns is the only cave in North America—and one of only four on Earth—that offers a tour along a path cut by an ancient underground river. First discovered by explorers in 1867, the stunning underground vista offers an up-close view of awe-inspiring, subterranean rock and crystal formations.

Address: 4872 North Farm Road 125, Springfield

  1. Arabia Steamboat Museum

Arabia Steamboat Museum navigates landlubbers into the Missouri River’s storied past. The steamboat Arabia met a watery fate in September 1856, taking down 200 tons of general store supplies with her. The wreck was discovered more than 130 years later, brimming with pre-Civil War artifacts from cookware, China and tools to children’s toys. Post-LASIK eyes can take in every detail of this fascinating exhibit, which evolves as items are unearthed and restored.

Address: 400 Grand Boulevard, Kansas City

  1. Table Rock Lake

With some 800 miles of shoreline, Table Rock Lake is a Midwest beachcomber’s paradise and a haven for watersports enthusiasts. The pristine 50-acre lake draws visitors from all over the Midwest and beyond for camping, swimming, fishing, boating and spectacular sunset views of the Missouri Ozarks. These are all activities that are infinitely more enjoyable without having to worry about losing eyeglasses or removing contact lenses.

  1. Aquarium at the Boardwalk

From a towering kelp forest to more than 250 animal species of all sizes, the Aquarium at the Boardwalk is a feast for the eyes. Even better if those eyes are 20/20! Trust us, with coral reefs, art installations and 7,200-plus sea creatures to view, you won’t want to miss a thing.
